Hospice report and consolidated accounts 2012

Our 30th annual general meeting was held at The Gough Ritchie Education Suite recently. The meeting opening with a moment of silence to remember John Crellin, who had been Hospice vice president for many years and who sadly died in 2012.

Hospice was delighted to welcome the Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of Douglas Mr and Mrs Cain along with several MHKs and representative from various organisations along with members of the charity.

The meeting heard from Hospice’s Treasurer Phillip Dearden who reflected that 2012 had been a good year  for the charity with expenses kept to a low level with donations at a steady flow but re-emphasised the need to continue to strive to raise £3.5 million to cover all the services that Hospice offers to the Isle of Man residents. All services are free and will always continue to be.

Nine staff who gained professional qualifications during 2012 were presented with Award Certificates a by Hospice Chairman Sir Miles Walker CBE. Senior staff delivered presentations on key subjects. Chief Executive presented the quality accounts of services offered by Hospice, a copy of which is enclosed below along with 2012 annual report and accounts for Hospice Care.
