OSKAR’S
DREAMS CONTINUE TO HELP REBECCA HOUSE
Oskar’s Dreams continue to support Rebecca House presenting a
number of cheques to staff at Hospice Isle of Man’s children’s
unit, Rebecca House.
A
sum of £7,500 was donated towards the salary of a part-time
assistant social worker. The
social worker is required to provide a huge amount of support to
the children and their families, from when the child is
diagnosed with a life-limiting illness through the initial
assessment at home and onto to issues such as dealing with
finances, housing, psycho-social care and benefits to ensure
every aspect of support is given. They will also offer a wide
range of help and guidance, not only during the illness, but
through end of life and bereavement support.
Two further cheque presentations of £1,500 and £700 were made to
cover various educational costs for Hospice staff.
Chief Executive Margaret Simpson expressed her gratitude to
Oskar’s Dreams for their continued support and kind donations.

What an Experience – A wonderful afternoon of
entertainment took place recently at our Christmas Experience.
A Victorian world was created at the Villa Marina with the
beautifully attired Hospice choir singing Christmas carols along
with the Manx Operatic Society performing a preview of their
forthcoming show Hot Mikado (tickets on sale now!).
Murray’s Road choir and Perree Bane
dancers also performed. There was also all the usual Christmas
stalls. An experience enjoyed by all that braved the horrendous
weather! The Fundraising team at Hospice would like to thank
everyone that got involved and came along. As one visitor
stated: ‘Christmas has now truly begun!.
