Father’s Day Gifts that support Hospice

Wondering what to get your dad for Father’s day? We have a few ideas for unique gifts that your Dads will love that will help support your Island Hospice too.

For the Dad that “doesn’t need anything”

Why not buy a Gift of Care for one of our patients in your Dad’s name, in lieu of giving a wrapped present? Choose from a variety of care gifts, such as an In Patient Unit Celebration Meal, or a Day Trip for one of our Rebecca House children. Once you have decided just place your order online we’ll pop a Gift of Care certificate card in the post for you to give to your proud parent. You can view all of our Gifts of Care here.

For the Dad that “just wants to spend a nice day with the family”

If your Dad enjoys fun, quality family time, we have just the present…tickets to Bubble Rush! Spend the afternoon making your way around our Mooragh Park course, diving into 4ft mountains of different coloured bubbles, then treat him to an ice cream in our food village afterwards. With a 10% discount for groups of four or more, why not bring the rest of the family along too? To find out more about Bubble Rush or to purchase tickets, click here.

For the Dad that “has enough socks and mugs to last a lifetime”

Step away from the socks, mugs and golf balls and instead pay a visit to the Neal’s Yard Remedies Hospice website. NYR offer a range of men’s products from skin care to general well-being items and 25% of every NYR purchase you make, using our personalised link, comes to Hospice. So as well as buying a gift for your Dad you will also be helping to provide care to our patients an families. All you need to do is follow our unique link here.

For the Dad that “wants a bit of peace and quiet”

Why not give him a reason to escape for a few hours? ‘Our Island Hospice’ is a fantastic book, written by Derek Winterbottom, that details the social movement and history behind our existence, and really is a reader’s delight. Derek’s book is available in the following locations on the Isle of Man: WH Smiths, Card Factory, The Book Company, Waterstones, The Sound, The Tea Junction, Noa Bakehouse, Bay Room, Starbucks, Spill the Beans, The Alpine and Cafe Republic. You can also pop into our Scholl Wellbeing Centre reception to pick up a copy.

For the Dad that believes “food is the way to the heart”

Elaine’s Coffee shop, situated in our Scholl Wellbeing Centre reception, is open Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays & TT Week) and serves a delicious range of sandwiches, salads, soups, daily specials and much more. So pop in for a scrumptious lunch, and even if you go for the chips you can enjoy them guilt-free knowing that with each bite you will be helping us to provide patient care.

For the Dad that you would like to lovingly remember

We appreciate that these times of the year can be difficult for many families and will always do our best to support any ideas you have to celebrate or remember a loved one.  Whether you would like to know more about placing a personal message on a beautifully inscribed leaf or apple for one of our everlasting trees, or have another way that you would like to remember a loved one, you can contact us on 01624 647433 to discuss.
