May – Celebration Update

Each month we hold a celebration event to show our appreciation to those of you that support us with generous donations and fundraising efforts. This month we were joined by, and would like to thank, the following people:

Cyclefest

Isle of Man Cyclefest was held on 21st & 22nd April and Jon cycled the Gran Fondo (82 mile) route and raised £700 for Rebecca House! Jon has also made a personal contribution of £1,000 to the charity. Additionally, Jon also won a Nokia 3 mobile phone from a Christmas Party and generously donated this as a prize for our Royal Get Together raffle.

Glynn Hargraves

Glynn wanted to support Rebecca House by organising a bowling competition at South Ramsey Bowling Club in memory of Sophie Kelly who attended Rebecca House for a period of time. Glynn’s employer Barclays also pound-for-pound matched his fundraising efforts up to £1,000, raising the total amount donated to £2,402!

London Marathon Runners

A huge thank you to those who ran the London Marathon in support of Hospice Isle of Man this year; Les Moorcroft, Paul Curphey, Daniel Corkill, Jamie Corkill,  Mike Crompton, Simon McNally, Anthony McNally & Haydn Cubbon  who collectively raised a whopping £17,973.60! We’d also like to thank Steve Cain, another London Marathon runner, who separately raised a fantastic £3,732.40 for us.

Lynn Nicolas

Lynn conquered Machu Picchu last month for Hospice and and raised a staggering £560 from the climb. Well done Lynn – what an achievement!

David Kneale

David recently celebrated a milestone birthday, and asked family and friends to donate to Hospice in lieu of birthday presents, raising a celebratory £600  – a wonderful & kind gesture.
