Education and professional development is a big part of our strategy and using our experience and expertise to develop others is fundamental to our work.
We aim to be not only the leader in delivering palliative and end of life care but also the driving force behind the training and education that will enable hospice influenced care to be provided throughout our community.
As such, we are able to provide clinical work placements and development opportunities.

We offer the chance for school and college students to experience first hand what we do here at Hospice through work experience in both the clinical and non-clinical settings.
Work experience placements are offered via the ‘Department of Education Work Experience Scheme’.
Due to age restrictions 14 to 16 year olds (Years 10 & 11) may only work in a non-clinical setting. If you are 16 years or over and wish to pursue a health related career we are able to offer placements in a clinical setting for three days.
We also offer work experience to Duke of Edinburgh students and other community groups.
