Our trail includes 26 large wallaby sculptures and these colourful marsupials have been imagined by local and international artists and each sculpture is waiting to show off it's unique style and charm. We had over a hundred design submissions which were then shortlisted and were matched with our sponsors. Now painted and varnished, they are going to make a big impact on the Island when the trail goes live on May 24th.
By getting involved with our trail, our artists had a chance to demonstrate their creative talent and exhibit their work over a prolonged period of time.
Our aim is to promote the importance of creativity and its real value socially, culturally and economically. The Wallabies Gone Wild trail introduced new businesses to the arts and injected additional funds into the creative sector, creating new commissions and allowing artists to engage with new audiences.
