What a fabulous day and night

the team photographs of the fire and ice walking groups that took part in a most unusual event on the Island recently. Over £1,000 was raised for Hospice Isle of Man by thrill-seekers walking on fire and ice.

The event, organised by UK Firewalk, raising funds for Hospice involved motivational talks prior to the event and support during the actual walks. Walkers traipsed across broken glass, which supposedly felt like ice, and fire at a temperature 561 degrees.

Two of the teams included Tim Crookall MHK and James Bailey who did the abseil in the morning at the Point of Ayre for The Children’s Centre then headed into Douglas for ice and fire walk.

Terri Cook, Corporate Events Fundraiser for Hospice, who did both the ice and fire walking, thanked everyone that took part adding: “It was tremendous event”. I would like to thank Chris Pycroft and Michelle O’Malley from Douglas Development Partnership for their support, Peter Young from Event Management Solutions, Justin McMullin at ELS for all their hard work, Liam Moorhouse and Colette Wylde for providing brilliant entertainment at night.

Also pictured (8431) is Frances ‘red devil’ Moore of the fundraising team who thoroughly enjoyed the event and proved to be an excellent firewalker!
