Hospice Calendar Photography Competition

Submit your best photos for a chance to appear in our 2025 fundraising calendar

Submission deadline is 23:59 on 30th June 2024

We are inviting our supporters to enter the Hospice Isle of Man Calendar Photography Competition for 2025. Last year we produced our first Hospice Calendar for 2024, showcasing beautiful landscape images from across the Isle of Man. The calendar was sold via our website and retail shops, raising over £4000 to go towards supporting Hospice care.

This year we are inviting you to submit your own images that encapsulate the beauty of the Isle of Man, for a chance to be included in our 2025 calendar. We are looking for a total of 13 images with 1 image dedicated to our front cover and the other 12 being assigned to each month. It doesn't matter whether you're a professional photographer or simply enjoy taking casual shots with your phone, all entries are welcome.

Submitted photos can be taken anywhere and should focus on capturing nature, landscapes and changing seasons, provided the images were taken on the Isle of Man. Below are some example images from our 2024 calendar to provide a bit of inspiration.

How do I enter?

Please complete the below online form or alternatively email your images to fundraising@hospice.org.im

Entrants can submit up to 5 photographs each. Images must be high resolution JPEG photos (minimum 300dpi). It is recommended to use the online form for submission due to email file size restrictions. Note that large file sizes in excess of 20mb may cause issues with email delivery - you can submit images across several emails or via cloud sharing links to mitigate this.

Images must be in landscape orientation for inclusion in the calendar. Please keep in mind that images will be displayed at A4 size (210x297mm). We will apply minor cropping to images if necessary to fit our required aspect ratio but images that require major cropping will be rejected.

Include the following information with your entry:

  • Your full name
  • Telephone number
  • Brief details on where each photo was taken and a description of what it shows
  • Brief details on your photography experience level
  • Written consent from any individuals included in photos

What are the rules?

  • All entries must be submitted by 23:59 on 30th June 2024.
  • There is no fee for entry
  • Entrants can submit up to 5 photographs
  • Entries must be submitted in JPEG digital format. Submissions of prints and via other digital formats such as RAW, TIFF or PNG will not be accepted.
  • Copyright will remain with the photographer. All photographs entered must be free of any third-party restrictions regarding their use and publication.
  • Photos submitted must have been taken by the person submitting the photos and they must be the copyright holder.
  • Photos must not have any watermark or copyright overlaying the image.
  • Any persons photographed must have provided written consent for the use of their mage by Hospice Isle of Man.
  • The faithful representation of what was captured at the time of the shot being taken must be maintained. Images that appear to have been overly post processed and altered will not be accepted.

How will winning shots be used?

No prize or fee will be awarded to anyone whose photos are selected as winners or any persons appearing in those photos. However our 13 winners will receive a free copy of the 2025 calendar featuring their image as recognition for their success.

The winning images will be chosen by a panel of independent Hospice judges and will be picked based on quality and suitability for use in the calendar.

Winning images will be announced in July 2024 with the calendar going on sale in Autumn 2024. If you have any questions about the competition or your entry please email us at fundraising@hospice.org.im.

Note that by submitting your photographs, you consent to their unlimited use by Hospice Isle of Man in any communications or publications for the promotion of the Hospice Calendar.
