Bigger home for Elaine's Café as demand continues to grow

Thanks to the incredible support of customers, volunteers and staff, Elaine’s Café has become an important and much-loved part of Hospice life.

The café is now generating around £8,500 each month, with all profits helping to fund care for patients and their families.

As demand continues to increase, we are delighted to announce that Elaine’s Café will be moving to a larger and more accessible space within Hospice.

The current café will close on Friday 3 July, with the new café opening on Tuesday 1st September in the former Day Unit area.

Once fully complete, the new space will be approximately twice the size of the existing café and will incorporate the conservatory and outdoor area, providing much more room for visitors, patients, families and staff to enjoy.

Patient meals will continue throughout the transition, and we will work hard to maintain staff meal provision. Groups currently using the space will be accommodated elsewhere.

Importantly, the costs associated with the move and refurbishment are being met through grant funding.

We look forward to sharing updates over the coming weeks and welcoming everyone into the new and improved Elaine’s Café later this summer.
