Rebecca House is calling on the Isle of Man community to come together during Children’s Hospice Week 2026 to help raise awareness of the vital care and support provided to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families.
Children’s Hospice Week, which takes place from 15 - 21 June 2026, is the UK’s only awareness week dedicated to children’s hospice care. Led by Together for Short Lives, this year’s campaign shines a spotlight on the precious moments children’s hospices help create every day and the growing need for support and funding for these essential services.
Throughout the week, Rebecca House will be hosting a range of activities across the Island to celebrate the incredible children, families, staff and supporters of the charity. Plans include visits to local corporate businesses, schools and nurseries, to raise awareness and encourage support, a public flag day fundraiser on Saturday 20th June in the Hospice Duke Street Store, and a series of heartfelt stories shared across social media from members of the Rebecca House team and families who have experienced the care and support the hospice provides.
Rebecca House provides specialist respite, symptom management, end-of-life care and emotional support for children and young people, while also supporting parents, siblings and wider family members through some of life’s most difficult moments. As demand for hospice care continues to grow and financial pressures increase across the charitable sector, the week carries even greater significance this year.
Lisa Kelly, Senior Health Care Assistant at Rebecca House, said:
“Children’s Hospice Week is an opportunity to celebrate the incredible strength of the children and families we support, while also helping people understand the reality of children’s hospice care. Rebecca House is about helping families make memories, find support and spend precious time together. But like many hospices across the British Isles, we need community support more than ever to continue providing these vital services”
Rebecca House is encouraging the public, local businesses and community groups to get involved during the week and help ensure that every family who needs hospice care can continue to access compassionate support when they need it most.
