Work Experience & Clinical Placements

Work Experience - Year 10 students

We're happy to welcome work experience placements from the Island's secondary schools. If you are interested in a work placement, please send your request via your school using the School Work Experience Scheme. Each placement will be for a period of 1 working week (working hours 10:00 - 16:00)

Work Placement Areas

We currently offer work placements in the following 3 areas:

  • Estates and Garden
  • Catering
  • Retail and Warehouse

Every successful candidate will need to:

  • Visit hospice a few weeks before the placement starts so we can show you around
  • Fill in some paperwork - so please allow time for that
  • Meet the team you will be working with

Many students choose to continue volunteering for the hospice after their work experience, if you would like to do this please speak to the volunteer team at the end of your placement.

Clinical Placements

Education and professional development is a big part of our strategy and using our experience and expertise to develop others is fundamental to our work.

We aim to be not only the leader in delivering palliative and end of life care but also the driving force behind the training and education that will enable hospice influenced care to be provided throughout our community.

As such, we offer clinical work placements and development opportunities.
