Dementia Awareness Week 2025 - One Person with Dementia

This week, we’re shining a light on dementia and on the unique, remarkable people living with it and those who support them.

Because if you’ve met ONE person with dementia, you’ve met ONE person with dementia.

I am a person first. I have dementia second.
We might have dementia, but we are all unique.

Dementia can be one of the most challenging journeys anyone will face, for the person themselves and for those who care for them. That’s why we believe in putting the ME in dementia: seeing the person, not just the diagnosis.

If you’re worried about dementia, or caring for someone who is, our Forget Me Not Admiral Nurses are here for you. They can offer information, guidance, and a listening ear.

Contact them now on admiralnurse@hospice.org.im to find out what help is available or pop down to the Sea Terminal on Friday 26 September 10am-4pm.

Let’s work together to raise awareness, offer understanding, and put the ME in dementia.
