Hospice Care Week 2025 - The Importance of Fundraising

A few weeks ago, we had the honour of welcoming some wonderful ladies from Castle View Nursing Home.

The residents and staff at the Peel home held a raffle and raised an incredible £250 for Hospice Isle of Man! Karen Baxter and Hannah Walker, pictured, came in to present the proceeds and show their support.

They shared that so many of their patients have had loved ones cared for by Hospice, and that our Hospice at Home nurses often visit Castle View Nursing Home to provide essential care when it’s needed. This generous donation is a perfect example of how “Hospice care is more than you think” - it’s not just about in-patient or at-home care, but also about the fundraising, support, and community effort that make everything possible. Every raffle, event, and act of kindness helps us continue providing comfort, dignity, and compassion to patients and families across the island.
