Hospice Isle of Man are pleased to announce the launch of the Crowther Clinic, a dedicated joint and headache pain relief clinic designed specifically for private patients. This innovative clinic will provide expert pain management whilst generating crucial funds for Hospice Isle of Man, helping to ensure the charity’s continued delivery of vital palliative care services.
Chronic and acute pain have long been undertreated, often leading to significant physical, psychological, and social challenges. The Crowther Clinic is committed to addressing these issues with a compassionate, professional service that offers quick access to doctors trained in pain management. The mission is to improve the quality of day-to-day life for patients, providing effective and reliable solutions to manage both acute and long-term pain.
Led by a team of experienced pain management specialists already employed by Hospice Isle of Man, the Crowther Clinic offers a range of treatment options, including injections, and nerve blocks for comprehensive pain management.
The Crowther Clinic, named in honour of Nadene Crowther—the inspiring founder of the Hospice movement in the Isle of Man—operates within the Hospice building in Strang. This ensures that patients benefit from the same high level of care and support that Hospice Isle of Man is renowned for. Importantly, the clinic does not impact any of the existing services provided free of charge by Hospice Isle of Man. Instead, it introduces a vital, paid-for service that will generate additional funds for the charity.
A key aspect of the Crowther Clinic is that no charity funds will be used to operate this service. All revenue generated from the clinic will be reinvested directly into Hospice Isle of Man to support the free delivery of essential palliative care services. Every treatment received at the clinic will contribute to the charity’s mission of providing compassionate care to individuals with life-limiting illnesses.
John Knight, Chief Executive of Hospice Isle of Man said, “We are excited to introduce the Crowther Clinic as a new way to support both our patients and the incredible work being done by Hospice Isle of Man. By offering expert pain management solutions, we hope to alleviate the burden of pain for our patients while also ensuring the continued success of Hospice Isle of Man’s core services.”
Appointments can now be made online for the Crowther Clinic for the first clinic on Thursday 12th June 2025. For more information about the Crowther Clinic please visit www.crowtherclinic.im.
