Living Well With Dementia

Getting a dementia diagnosis doesn’t mean you can’t live well.

With appropriate person-centred care, people can continue to enjoy a meaningful and fulfilling life.

Here are five key ingredients for living well with dementia:

- Attachment – staying connected to someone or something you care about.
- Comfort – feeling warm, clean, dry, and free from pain.
- Identity – being recognised for who you are and what you love.
- Occupation – having a purpose, taking part in activities that matter to you.
- Inclusion – feeling part of something, engaged in conversation and community.

Because every person with dementia is unique, and every life still holds value, connection, and joy. Let’s work together to raise awareness, offer understanding, and put the ME in dementia.
