Shining Stars of Hospice!
It’s a week of celebrations and recognition at Hospice.
First up, let's give a huge shoutout to Caitlin Barlow, one of our incredible Band 6 Nurse Practitioners who’s on her way to becoming a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS). She’s been named one of Gef's 30 Under 30 winners in the Community Impact category.
Caitlin began her career in the Inpatient unit as a Band 5 nurse in 2021, before quickly progressing to Band 6. As a Band 5 nurse she developed specialised palliative care skills and built the resilience required for the sensitive and challenging nature of hospice care. The Band 6 promotion reflected Caitlin's proven ability to expertly manage complex cases with compassion and maturity. Whilst she loved working within the IPU, her desire to provide patient-led community-based support ultimately shaped her current career path.
In her current role and soon as a CNS, Caitlin is making a huge impact by using her clinical expertise to improve the quality of life for patients facing life-limiting illnesses—whether that’s in their homes, nursing homes, or hospitals.
Caitlin’s dedication to making a difference is truly inspiring, and we couldn’t be more proud to have her on our team. Big congratulations to Caitlin and all the other incredible young leaders shaping the future of our community!
