The Half Marathon Route
The difference your support makes
By entering our half marathon, you can help us collectively raise £30,000 to fund up to 140 vital palliative care nursing visits for patients receiving end of life care at home.
Our Hospice at Home service enables people with life limiting illnesses to receive expert nursing care and support in the comfort of their own home in their final days. Supporting a patient’s wish to live out their final days in a place of their choosing has a multitude of benefits for the patient and their loved ones, making it a vital option for end of life care.
Fundraise for us
In recognition and as a thank you for your efforts, anyone who raises £100 or more in sponsorship for running the Hospice Half Marathon, will qualify for our VIP Running Kit. This will include the exclusive Hospice Champion’s running vest and cap, kindly modelled by Ollie and Laura, which is only available to those who reach the fundraising goal.

Fancy Dress Encouraged
Add extra color and fun to the miles—fancy dress is warmly welcomed and actively encouraged at this year’s Hospice Half Marathon! Whether you tackle the 13.1 miles as a superhero, in a tutu, or in a matching group theme, we want to see your creativity on the course. Keep your eyes peeled on the day, too: we will be awarding spot prizes for the most memorable and inventive costumes across the field.

Yes. You will be required to sign-on in person before competing. At sign-on, you will be provided with your race pack which includes your race number and timing chip. For the Half Marathon, there will also be your event T-shirt if you have chosen to have one and if you are one of our VIP Fund-raisers, you will also receive a running vest and cap. Details for the registration sessions will be provided to all participants closer to the event date.
Runners must be aged 18 or over on the day of the event (14th March 2027). There is no maximum age limit.
Road Closures are permitted on the understanding that re-opening is always executed within a strict, maximum time-frame. The timing allows for a participant to take around 15 minutes per mile and still be within the cut-off, so we expect this to be ample. However, if for any reason a participant falls outside this schedule and is overtaken by the Roads Open Car, they will be advised that they are on open roads and must act accordingly.
Deferrals may be carried over once only to the following year with a cut-off date of 24th February 2027. If you deferred last year, you will be automatically entered into this year’s event.
Transfer of your entry to another person must be made by 24th February 2027.
No refunds are available
