Hospice Race the Sun 2026

100 Miles - One Day - One Epic Relay!

This year the event will be starting in Douglas, at sunrise (04:47), your team must complete a clockwise lap of the dramatic 100-mile island coastal footpath in 17 hours 8 minutes before the sun sets (21:55).

The course follows the 'Raad ny Foillan' our stunning coastal footpath that goes all the way around our island with beautiful scenery and a diverse range of terrains to conquer, ranging from impressive sandy beaches, forested glens, heather clad hills to exposed cliff tops.

The course is broken down into 10 different legs, which vary in length, landscape and difficulty; ranging from 10.5km (6.5m) to 18km (11.45m) in distance. The event is open to teams of up to 10 people who each get assigned to their legs of the relay.

We strongly encourage all participants to familiarize themselves with their sections ahead of race day for a smooth and enjoyable experience. Please note this is a self-supported event and participants will need to transport their own team members and make sure that teammates arrive at transition points on time.
