Did you know 70% of people with dementia go missing at least once? Therefore, we are absolutely delighted to announce our Forget-Me-Not Admiral nurses have collaborated with the Isle of Man Constabulary to bring the Herbert Protocol to the Island.
The Herbert Protocol is a scheme designed to help locate individuals with dementia or other vulnerabilities who go missing. It involves creating a form with vital information about the person, such as their physical description, habits, and places they frequent, which can then be given to the police if they go missing. This proactive approach can significantly speed up the search process and potentially save lives by providing crucial information quickly.
The Herbert Protocol is officially being launched in Douglas on Tuesday 1st July at an event on Strand Street, outside Wetherspoons. Our nurses will be there alongside representatives from the Isle of Man Constabulary from 11am until 2pm for you to ask questions or for you to sign up for the scheme.
